Sara DeVine – General Music
I graduated from Western Illinois University and received my degree in K-12 Music Education in the fall of 2019. In addition to my studies at WIU, I have also studied abroad both at the American College of Greece and University of Ghana. I have been teaching at Quincy Public Schools since January 2020. Since I have moved to Quincy, I have played with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band and have begun teaching flute lessons at Quincy University. I am a bit of a transplant here in Quincy but have already found the community to feel like home!

Alison Huntley – General Music
Alison Huntley is a native of New Lenox, Illinois, where she grew up in a musical family and began her musical studies at an early age. She is currently in her third year of teaching, and her second year teaching K-5 general music at Denman Elementary. Miss Huntley studied Music Education, Vocal Performance, and Choral Conducting at Western Illinois University. Miss Huntley enjoys being a part of musical productions, whether onstage or off, and can be frequently seen playing keyboard and singing on the worship team at her church. Singing is a passion of hers and she hopes to instill the love of music and singing in every student she teaches.

Mark Snider – General Music
Mark is originally from St. Louis and attended Central Methodist University and Emporia State University. He has been teaching for 16 years with the last two of those in Quincy. Mark is a member of the Quincy Symphony Chorus. He is married to Mrs. Snider (also a QPS music teacher) and they have two daughters.

Samantha Seitz – General Music
My name is Miss Samantha Seitz and I teach General Music at Lincoln-Douglas Elementary, this is my 5th year teaching music. I received my bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Quincy University in Quincy, IL. I play flute and piccolo with amazing groups in the Quincy area. I have played with Quincy University’s Symphonic Band for some performances and graduations. I also play with the Quincy Park Band and Quincy Concert Band. In my free time I like to hang out with my boyfriend, Mack, and play with my dog, Kuzco. I also like to hang out with my friends by cooking delicious meals and playing Pokémon Go. I like to relax at home by watching tv series on Hulu and Netflix, my favorite kind of show is reality competition like Food Network’s Chopped.

Melissa Hopf – General Music
Completed Bachelor of Music Education in 2008 at Indiana State University. This is my 11th year of teaching, and my 9th year teaching General Music. I live in Quincy with my husband, daughter, and 2 cats. Outside of school I love to spend time with my family, watch movies, knit, and read (especially YA and historical fiction). I also play flute in Quincy Concert Band and Quincy Park Band.

Dayna Traver – 4th & 5th Grade General Music
My name is Dayna Traver! I graduated from Western Illinois University spring 2020 and this is my first year teaching! I was part of Sigma Alpha Iota, an all-women music fraternity at WIU and part of the NAfME chapter as well. I play saxophone as my primary instrument and love to craft, paint, and long-distance run in my free time. I’m excited to be a part of the staff at QPS!

Gayanne Daugherty – Part time 4th & 5th General Music Support
Mrs. Gayanne Daugherty obtained a B.M.E. and M.A. from Western Illinois University and her M.A. with Special Education Focus from Quincy University. She has been involved in Music Education for 25 years. Last year she was a music teacher at Denman School and now travels to various elementary schools continuing to share her love and knowledge of music with our students. Freddy, her black mini schnauzer, likes to take walks and travel to their cabin in the country.
